Visit Elba Island
The Elba Island is located approximately 10 km off the coast and can be easily reached from Poggio all’Agnello with ferries departing from Piombino every hour (approx 45 minutes to arrive at destination). During the summer, a fast hydrofoil to Portoferraio is also available with an intermediary stopover at Cavo.
The Island of Elba is famous throughout the world for its uncontaminated marine landscape and for the crystal seas which surround it.
Its wild nature, nonetheless rich with tourist facilities and services, attracts many visitors each year, constituting the island’s primary source of income.
For underwater diving enthusiasts, the Island of Elba represents a huge attraction thanks to its variety of coves, rocks and beaches where underwater dives can be carried out and where wrecks and spectacular undersea landscapes can be admired, rich in marine flora and fauna.
There is no shortage of food and wine temptations, naturally rich in seafood (white bream, sea bass, snapper, grouper) and local wines; Elba is renowned for Aleatico, a liqueur wine and more recently, for its Elba Doc.
The Island of Elba with its stunning beaches and crystal seas is no doubt a day excursion from Poggio all’Agnello not to be missed. It is also ideal for those travelling by motorcycle.
