Poggio Experience
The Poggio swimming pool: where great champions are forged
With the end of the summer season, even this year Poggio will be renewing its partnership with the FIN. A tradition we are proud of. And which gives us the chance to help great champions in their training sessions, thanks to our Olympic swimming pool, with the aim of making Italy perform at its best during the next Olympics.
Our heated Olympic swimming pools.
has always been one of our gems. It is perfect for the training requirements of both professional swimmers and enthusiasts of the sport.
So it should come as no surprise that, after the end of the summer season, this pool is used by the FIN, the Italian Swimming Federation, to train its top prospects.
This year, given the major changes caused by the ongoing pandemic and the upheaval in all sporting events, including a global event like the Olympics, the Federation will be carefully preparing all aspects of the routine preceding the 2021 Tokyo Olympics.
This training required one of the best swimming pools in the country.
The great champions at the Poggio
Three top swimmers have chosen our residence on the Etruscan Coast Greg Paltrinieri we will pay tribute to him with a brief recap that can scarcely do justice to his extraordinary results: he is the reigning Olympic champion for the 1500 m front crawl and the 26-year-old athlete from Emilia Romagna has so far achieved results that put him ahead of his compatriots . A cannibal who will be looking to renew his Olympic success in the Far East.
Arianna Bridi is the winner of the 55th edition of the Capri-Naples. An exceptional result which saw her shatter all men’s and women’s records. Despite not having a specific goal at the Olympics, the 24-year-old wants to improve and achieve many new targets.
Domenico Acerenza, from Potenza, specialises in the 400, 800 and 1500m front crawl and the 5 km team race in open water. He is a training partner of Greg Paltrinieri and the two are expected to be in the same team in Japan.
Three great champions who chose our Olympic swimming pool for the best possible training to bring them new victories.
